Having “constituents” implies being chosen by those you claim to represent. These self-anointed “elites” bargained into office, then fought direct elections. You didn’t oppose the agenda then but offer “for the people” spiel after it failed? It’s a day late, and dollar short.
Who was Musa Farah igare !
The first British officer to hunt the mullah and attempt to crush his insurgency was Lt. Col. Eric Swayne, a dashing fellow who had previously been on safari to Somaliland, hunting for elephant and rhino, kudu and buffalo. He was dispatched from India, and brought with him an enterprising Somali who had once worked as a bootblack polishing British footwear. Musa Farah would serve one British overlord after another.
This is another classic example of completely legitimate international relations being transformed into a paranoid conspiracy by those who support the genocidal State.
For those who care to know more about him, @Amohamednur is a well-educated Somali who has a good amount of experience in government. He served in various national portfolios and thus his experience, knowledge, and views on public affairs can be of great value to both Parliament and the Somali public.
Being called a “Türkiye man” in the context of Somalia’s historic friendship with Turkey should not be presented as an accusation but rather as an honor.
Turkey has maintained historical and long-standing relations with Somalia through education and security support. Somalia is therefore fully entitled to explore and maintain strategic partnerships that will best serve the interests and sovereignty of Somalia.
Somali officials who studied, worked in, or even have friendships with Turks of all backgrounds and nationalities are being hunted by these character assassins. And apparently, Somalis who studied in the US, UK, Egypt, Kenya, etc. are not being targeted because they are not Ankara’s assets.
As he meets his constitutional obligations to serve the Parliament. Not a photograph in front of an old Ottoman naval painting to be used to ignorantly cast aspersions on his loyalty.
Being called a “Türkiye man” is in no way a negative thing. If anything, it highlights the historic relationship between the Ottomans and the Somalis that has been going on for generations.
The precondition for dialogue set by President Cirro should not be agreement on what happened before dialogue. It should be agreement that showing up does not determine the political position of either party. #Somalia#Somaliland
These Ethiopian think tanks will always place Ethiopia’s national interests above everything else. Their analysis should be viewed through that lens.
For many of the TCCs, their involvement in Somalia has long been driven by two realities. First, participation in peace support missions brings significant financial benefits through international funding and reimbursements. Second, a stable & economically successful Somalia could attract members of the Somali diaspora & ethnic Somalis living in neighboring countries, creating political & economic dynamics that some regional actors may not welcome.
Rather than focusing solely on Somalia’s challenges, regional analysts should also recognize that a secure, stable, and prosperous Somalia would contribute to greater stability, trade, & economic growth across the HoA. The interests of the region are best served by supporting Somalia’s recovery, not by perpetuating narratives of dependency or instability.
I’m happy to hear the President of Somaliand Cirro agreeing to sit down & talk to Gov of Somalia. This is a good step for durable peace in the region and I’m sure everyone will welcome this. The people really need a resolution, and In Shaa Allah it will come. Maalin Wanagsan 🌺
BREAKING: U.S. Embassy Reportedly Urges Puntland to Recover Weapons Taken from PSF Camp in Galkayo
GALKAYO, Somalia —The U.S. Embassy in Somalia has reportedly urged the Puntland administration to recover weapons, ammunition, vehicles and other military equipment taken from the Puntland Security Force (PSF) camp in Galkayo following the recent takeover of the facility.
Sources familiar with the matter told this publication that contacts between the U.S. Embassy and the Puntland presidency intensified after Puntland forces took control of the PSF facility.
According to the sources, the U.S. Embassy, acting on behalf of the U.S. government, stressed that military equipment previously provided to support the PSF should not fall into the hands of civilians and called on the Puntland authorities to ensure that the equipment is recovered and returned to government control.
The development comes after Puntland forces seized the PSF compound in Galkayo, with reports confirming that weapons, ammunition, vehicles and other military equipment were taken from the facility.
Sources further claim that the U.S. side provided information concerning equipment taken from the camp and pressed Puntland authorities to account for and recover the missing items.
The reported U.S. intervention is said to be one of the factors behind President @HESaidADeni urgent trip to Galkayo, where further discussions are reportedly taking place with individuals accused of taking weapons and military equipment from the facility.
The talks are reportedly focused on recovering the weapons and equipment and preventing the dispute from escalating further.
However, the @US2SOMALIA has not publicly confirmed the reported request, and the claims regarding direct U.S. pressure, surveillance footage and a detailed inventory of the missing equipment could not independently be verified at the time of publication.
