A significant source of air pollution is transportation. 13% of all CO2 emissions in the UK come from automobiles. By 2030, transport-related CO2 emissions in the UK are expected to increase by 35% if current patterns continue.
PM2.5, may have a disproportionately negative impact on children's mental and emotional development, with consequences for their cognitive and behavioral outcomes as well, since children's brains and behavior are still developing up until their late teens and early adulthood.

According to estimates from the World Health Organization, more than 90% of children breathe air pollution at levels that are harmful to their health and development.
