Welcome to the official page of the „ENLIGHT“ project. Project is focused on the effects of artificial light at night on amphibians physiology, development and behavior. #enlight also aims to increase awareness of light pollution and its consequences. #promis2023#fondzanauku

Last day #sebconference. Talk by @Nedim_Tuzun on effects of #lightpollution on Daphnia and it's parasite.
- flatworms decrease abundance of Daphnia under #ALAN,
- question that remains how can this reflect on food chain of urban freshwater ecosystem, already under pressure?
Our project leader presented results on the @SEBiology conference.
🚨Highlights:
- both warm and cool lights increased metabolic rates in larvae
- carry-over effect only in juveniles exposed to cool light;
- cool light affected most development, growth and movement of larvae
Second day #SEBconference. Effects of #ALAN on newts in short: The Good (natural dark), the Bad (warm light) and the Ugly (cool light).
Great chat with @Nedim_Tuzun about #lightpollution, what can we learn from amphibians and Daphnia.
Excited to share our latest review of the impacts of artificial light on sea turtle hatchling dispersal 💡🐢. We review their visual capabilities 👁️ and discuss the costs of disrupted orientation. With a great team @m_thumsy@aims_gov_au and others! ➡️https://t.co/dgox4S77Te

In urban areas, darkness is increasingly rare, so how is our addiction to light at night affecting other species? Dehua Wang (Shandong University, China) & co show that Bengalese finches are relatively unaffected but zebra finches are in bad shape
