Watch this @Tesla FSD Beta v11.4.7 ignore a no turn on red sign, forcing the driver to takeover: "Oh no, don't go!" @ElonMusk your defective software should be banned until it obeys the basic rules of the road. https://t.co/YwYIJPzRU7
Omar just stepped in it again. Little does he know that writing operating systems for commercial airliners, fighter jets, and intercontinental nuclear bombers is just a sideline for me. It is how I test my software development tools that have always been my forte.
A farmer in the back woods of Georgia sees a glitch on the display in his pickup, he pushes the button to report the bug, the next day the bug is fixed. Every time. That’s what my development tools do.
While at Tesla Full Self-Driving the same bugs have been reported 1000 times and they still haven’t been fixed a year later.
Our recording, compression, transmission, annotation, and analysis tools, enable us to reconstruct every bit at every nanosecond of every production unit in the field. Every bug can easily be found the first time it manifests itself in any production unit in the field.
Race conditions are automatically detected before they cause a problem. Buffer overflows, use-after-free, double-free, and uninitialized pointers can’t occur.
Most commercial programmers average one to three bug fixes per week. I usually find ten bugs per hour even when I am debugging multicore operating systems. The last time I couldn’t find a bug in my software was in 1975. Since then no bug has taken more than one day to find.
The tools everyone else uses are stone knives and bear skins compared to the software development tools I have developed.
@Tesla Full Self-Driving development tools are at the level of primordial ooze.
It has taken me almost 50 years to develop the tools to solve all the problems of software reliability. Now every bug can be fixed the first time it manifests itself.
Why does the company with the most miles of data have the most abysmally stupid self-driving AI? Because Elon has the most miles of data. So, he made up a story that the most data ensures the fastest AI training. If he had the most bottle caps he would have said that was the key.
"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration sent Tesla a letter on July 3 seeking updates to questions it had asked in August 2022 and has demanded answers by July 19" https://t.co/bNXxAQUfA7
It's slow as shit, but NHTSA is gonna severely restrict $TSLA's so-called "FSD"
If I were Elon Musk, I'd pay Ross Gerber $10m to never, ever be on camera again regarding $TSLA.
Gerber's stop-sign run on $TSLA FSD went viral w/ >20m impressions. Now it's on CNBC.
@NHTSAgov is scrambling over FSD running stop signs right now.
"Toyota wouldn't do this".
I’m on board. Come on Omar. We are live-streaming to the world. It’s your chance to try to “debunk” me in front of everyone.
We all know you can talk the talk, but what we all want to know is can you walk the walk?
Read my article in @intpolicydigest discussing how @ElonMusk has rolled out a fleet of 400,000 fully autonomous vehicles, without any of the regulations and testing that should apply: https://t.co/1gSjPM3FLG
Tesla full self driving Beta is a disgrace. Basically unusable even driving on the highway, and regressing
1. Erratic unnecessary lane switching, even when minimal lane switching and Chill mode is selected
2. Slamming on the brakes for no reason
They should start over
No, FSD will not save tens of thousands of lives, ever. FSD makes critical driving errors 1000x as often as Waymo does. FSD is way worse than the Autopilot system that Google threw away 10 years ago.
Ten companies have driverless cars on the road, everyone but Tesla.
Waymo is testing driverless cars in 25 cities, as are many other companies. The robotaxi market will be saturated before Tesla has a product.
Nine years of outrageous self-driving promises from Elon Musk to deliver full Level 5 autonomy within a year and every year FSD still drives like a drunk. Tesla has proven over and over that they don’t know how to make a Full Self-Driving car.
FSD is in last place. It will not save thousands of lives, that will be Waymo or Cruise or MobileEye or Baidu or one of the other companies that actually know how to make driverless cars.
Watch this #FSD Beta v11.3.6 blow through a stop sign and over a rail road track, forcing the driver to intervene: "Okay, that was stupid!" @ElonMusk your defective software is dangerous and not fit for use on public roads. https://t.co/skCchhtbgJ
