Roll the dice and order 3 digit numbers.
We're working on vertical surfaces, in randomized groups, using manipulatives in the first week. Triple threat! Oh yeah and in our second language!!!

I spent a hour or so today dusting off my classroom book collection. Kids don’t want to read outdated material, yellowed pages or text that isn’t current.
Let go of the clutter, teachers!
Teacher effectiveness is not greatly improved by canned curriculum, new programs, or even micromanaging. But, when teachers are respected, valued, supported, & feel like their talents are utilized, then morale increases, job satisfaction soars, & teachers are most effective!
Thrilled @NewsHour is focusing on middle school—“the forgotten middle child”—& ❤️ being part of a piece that highlights advice from so many innovative colleagues, incl. @NancyLDeutsch1, @petercrable, @RWDodd & @jamesallrich. https://t.co/bhZbegq1ju
I collected so many recordings today! I recorded students speaking French in 5+ breakout rooms simultaneously. The authentic language on directions, the listening strategies and technology skills were EXTRAORDINARY!! #GoogleMeet#jamboard@JeffHolbrough @TraciWells2 @FSLTVDSB
To wrap up our #dinosaurinquiry, K students have been creating their own dinosaurs using clay and random art materials. Students pick one of our many figures to use as reference and try to match as many features as they can. @WPSTillsonburg
Ontario: “Schools must stay open, no matter what!”
Common sense: OK - let’s vaccinate school staff ASAP to ensure they stay open.
Ontario: “Nope - you have to wait until June and should be happy about it.”
I’m sorry, this thinking makes no sense. #etfo#onpoli#wrdsbmtg
I had an opportunity to practice my French skills today as I visited multiple shops in @DeniseTylerr class. Loved the inclusion of hand sanitizer and very impressed with the level of FSL proficiency @TVDSB@SACTVDSB@mmenorley
Using a read aloud to study parts of a text. This is the beginning of writing their own adventure stories. If you can read it, you can write it. @WPSTillsonburg @FSLTVDSB
Marking is legit in Core French. 150 students/day means time spent assessing student work.
I use Google forms, quick little written assessments, then bigger projects.
What do you do to cut down on marking time?

Video vendredi! Students are enjoying listening to authentic French speakers and learning about science too! #frenchsecondlanguage@WPSTillsonburg @FSLTVDSB
Thank you for participating in #BellLetsTalk with #TVDSB today! Together we have made a huge difference! Please continue to keep the conversation going to help end the stigma around mental health issues.
When the 1/2 class is learning about words with the long i vowel pattern, ie, and you can’t find a good read aloud for it...sometimes you just have to write your own! I hope they love it! @WPSTillsonburg
