First they took down the statues of Sir John A MacDonald, the first prime minister of the Dominion of Canada, and replaced his image on our currency with a random black woman who sat in the wrong seat in a movie theatre.
Now they're erasing Samuel de Champlain, the man who literally founded Canada.
At the same time the government tells anyone who will listen that Canada is built on stolen land, and wants to make it illegal to question the official claim that the Canadian government is guilty of genocide, a claim which no one believes anymore, because there is no evidence for it.
The government is erasing Canada's history while insisting that the country it governs is both legally and morally illegitimate.
