CIHE hosted a compelling conversation between historian Margaret MacMillan and ethicist Nigel Biggar. They delve into the complexities of colonial history, challenging the notion that the British Empire bears sole responsibility for global injustices.
What if we forgot the people, the stories, and the sacrifices that shaped Canada?
This Canada Day, the Canadian Institute for Historical Education invites you to reflect on why our history matters—and what’s at stake when we stop remembering it.
Please watch the video. Share the message. Help us preserve the legacy of those who built this country.
Because together, we make history.

Highly recommend James Arnett's new historical fiction - The Monmouth Manifesto. #StevePaikin calls it A Different take on the US War of Independance. Due to Government of Canada regulations, I can't share the TVO link. You can catch it on You Tube too. #JamesArnett
Another insightful #StevePaikin interview on #TheAgenda. Worth watching and the book is worth a read! A Different Take on the U.S. War of Independence https://t.co/cHckzWzHRH
The roof at the Ontario Science Centre has more integrity than the Ford government’s story for permanently closing it. It absolutely can, and should, be fixed and reopened to the public. Our fight to save it continues at Toronto city council this week.
Very encouraged to see @Penalosa_G propose keeping the Ontario Place site public instead of turning it into a pay-to-play spa. The spa can still exist but without making Torontonians pay to access our own waterfront:

Best line ever - "Boris Johnson is leaving office with the same dignity he brought to it: none. I’ve seen more elegant prolapses." Marina Hyde, The Guardian. @MarinaHyde Worth a subscription just to read her. Journalism at its best!
Memories of special days. In 2016, a pair of cool things… The gov. General recognizing me for volunteerism, and meeting Prince Edward (the good Prince) at an event helping youth become leaders in our society. Both made possible by the amazing @EnslinPR 🙌 ♥️ Rosemarie.
