I do not celebrate Independence Day. In 1959, my family had to flee Rwanda.

The so-called independence did not bring my family back to Rwanda! As a result, i was born a refugee.

I celebrate 4th of July instead. That’s the day when all Rwandans had equal rights to the country.

Many global observers look at the Great Lakes region with utter naivety, or perhaps ignorance. They treat the current chaos as random, isolated skirmishes. In reality, we are witnessing an ancient African civilization defending itself against a century-old international assault.

When European colonizers arrived at the source of the Nile River, they didn't find a fragmented, lawless territory. They encountered the ancient Kingdom of Rwanda—a highly sophisticated, deeply unified, and powerful state that was never going to accept foreign colonization.

Because the global empire could not intellectually or culturally conquer this ancient kingdom, a decision was made at the 1884 Berlin Conference: the organic structure of Rwanda had to be broken, divided, and erased from the map.

For decades, the West executed this erasure. It manufactured the racist "Hamitic Hypothesis" to divide us, engineered the brutal exile of 1959, and ultimately backed the bureaucratic culmination of this plot—the 1994 Genocide Against The Tutsis.

This is where President Paul Kagame altered the course of history. He understood early on that Rwanda wasn't just fighting local extremist puppets—we were facing an international genocidal white supremacist mafia.

He then set out to build a defensive system specifically engineered to withstand this global assault.

That system is the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) we see today. It is a highly disciplined fortress built to look the empire in the eye, enforce its own defensive perimeter, and protect its children without ever begging for permission.

From the local puppets of the 1960s to the @UN's fraudulent plots today, the West is still trying to enforce the old 1884 Berlin directive. But the RDF is the physical proof that this ancient civilization refuses to die! 🇷🇼✊🏽
