@horseracingpros Yeah, but I always thought we were going to get home, actually, as long as the horse went straight so I wasn't too worried even though it was close at the end.
Tauranga 4-1 Hinerangi $2.80 into $2.15, out well and settled behind them, 3 deep corner and joined in. Wanted to run around like a duck but Matthew Cameron got it going straight for long enough to just get home. A weaker jockey doesn't win that race.
Wingatui 4-3 Zabay $2.60 out to $3.40, out OK settled 3 back fence, travelling well corner, no clear run, no clear run, no clear run, out late, ran on into 3rd but bird had flown. Jockey needed to be more proactive before corner.
Hastings 6-3 Al Vandaam $6/$2.05 into $4.60, out OK from the wide gate, worked to lead and set steady tempo, going well corner, galloped powerfully up straight to hold them all out and WIN for us.
Hastings 3-5 Steppenwolf $6/$2.70, out well and steadied in the one-one, made run from 500m into the race 3 deep. Caught a huge case of the plugs and didn't go on from the 200m.
Ellerslie 6-10 Morrie Ock $19/$5 into $17, out well and good run right behind speed on fence, going well corner, clear straight, couldn't quite get past the placegetters and ran 5th. Beat SP rank but no good to us.
Ellerslie 3-8 Vaudesir $4.40/$1.85 into $4, out well and got beaut run just behind lead. Clear top of straight and kicked through to front, challenged wide and held on for 3rd. Couldn't have asked for a better ride from @jamieleekah07
Waipukurau 1-2 Dal Kilchoan $2.80/$1.30 out to $3.20. Away OK, expected him to press forward outside lead, went back instead and was 3 deep trip, had nothing into straight and plugged home. Was horrible, really.
Ellerslie 3-8 Fullinbloom $4.40/$1.75, out well took up position behind lead, going well corner, cruised to lead 300m and looked likely, stopped like me at a pie shop last 100m to miss a place.
Riccarton 9-14 Lindis Pass $9.72/$3.36 (after late scr) into $7.50, settled just behind them on OK pace, lost a bit of ground corner, clear 300m and finished off into 3rd to sneak a win for us for the day.
Riccarton 8-1 Forged $4.60/$1.85, out well to lead and set steady tempo, in control into straight, came off fence to 'better' part of track, fought up straight but run over late to miss a place and run another annoying 4th #SickOfRunning4th
@carmrarn If the 13 wins then I'm going over the side...without a life jacket. If the 2 could get out to $12 or so then it's very close to a bet, as well.
@Minegold @carmrarn It becomes a complete frontrunnerathon over there from Boxing Day for a couple of months so hopefully can find some sneaky leaders to do the job for us.
Pukekura 6-8 Sweet Treat $51/$11 into $34, restrained from outside gate and to fence rear, pushed through on fence from 800m, out straight and looked a chance but just plugged. Couldn't have asked for a much better ride, though.
