Honored to receive a 2026 ASCO YIA.
This award will support my clinical trial evaluating SkinScan3D, an AI-powered 3D imaging device for monitoring Kaposi Sarcoma.
My sincere thanks to my mentor, Dr. Lee Ratner, and to the Hem/Onc Fellowship Program at WashU.
I had the opportunity to share perspectives on inequities in cancer care, and I am even more motivated to achieve my long-term goal of advancing oncology in low-resource settings.
Ethiopia has finalised its preparations and stands ready to host the distinguished delegations of the 39th African Union Summit and the Second Italy–Africa Summit.
As you gather in the diplomatic capital of Africa, I warmly invite all distinguished delegates to plan ahead and extend your stay beyond the halls of the AU to experience a new era of African-led tourism development.

Just wrapped up an energizing #SABCS2025 - so many important updates in breast cancer. I was honored to collaborate with Dr. Mohammad Jahanzeb @OncDocMJ, and moderate a PRECISCA session alongside Dr. Ruth O'Regan @oreganruth and Dr. Haruka Itakura, discussing the latest advances.
My mentor and colleague @MayoClinic Dr. Ayalew Tefferi will be honored with the Giants of Cancer Care Award @OncLive tomorrow. #ASCO25
Dr. Tefferi and I work together as Editors of @BloodCancerJnl
He is one of the most influential and amazing educators in medicine.
@VincentRK I am an IMG from Ethiopia. The majority of the cases I saw when I was rotating in EM as an internal medicine resident were what I wouldn’t even see in a rural hospital in Ethiopia. Very easily treatable cases which should be treated elsewhere or by non-MD healthcare professionals
45% of #Cancer deaths in the #US are attributable to modifiable risk factors, with cigarette smoking alone accounting for 29% of the deaths. This underscores the importance of focusing on prevention to substantially reduce the US cancer burden.

🫶Happy heavenly birthday, Dr #RegHamlin!
✨Today we celebrate this legendary #humanitarian who together with his wife, Catherine, started the world's only specialist hospital for women with #obstetricfistula injuries.
❤️Thank you, Reg for everything you did for Ethiopian women!
@AhJemal@AhJemal This is sad actually. I firsthand witnessed patients which had to wait for over a year to get their first radiotherapy treatment. Even worse, most of these machines are down half the time.
