At a time when voting for Town Councils is spurring division and hatred on local FB pages and social media (Reform is pushing hard in BCP) cheering to see this
Council Tax arrears in England have risen by almost a half since before the pandemic.
Arrears continued to rise during the cost of living crisis - with £445 million added to England’s stock of arrears between 2023-24 and 2024-25. That's much greater than the rise seen after the financial crisis.
She will be sadly missed by all members of Dorset Equality Group. She was wise, kind, and a passionate champion in the pursuit of greater equality. Thoughts are with her family at this time.
@VikkiSlade72#waspiwomen have been cheated & suffered injustice. They are seen as a ‘burden’ .Some are forced to work on in their 70s and 80s. If they can’t be compensated at the very least they deserve some extra tax relief on earning beyond pension age.
What a shameful day. Starmer came to power pledging to restore trust in politics - this is destroying trust & wrecking lives. A massive injustice was done to #Waspiwomen - it’s a political choice not to remedy it
Nature has the best way for #CarbonCapture Storing it under sea is saving the dirty for future! What about leakage? What about seismology? Is this a vanity project that benefits mates?
We know that wealth inequality in the UK is also a race and gender inequality, but data is very difficult to collect and experiences vary hugely. That's why we're working with LSE to recruit community reporters in London. Interested? Apply now: https://t.co/9F8pAi6aDx
There is a National crisis in relation to #SEND and a crisis of lack of support/funding in Dorset. No child should be denied education at the start of term.
When I was at school I hardly ever heard of children being suspended, or expelled. You had to do something really bad to be kicked out of school. In one day, this week, I’ve heard stories of 4 different kids (2 with #SEND) from different families, out of school. #LostLearning ☹️
AstraZeneca's CEO is the UK's highest paid, enjoying a £1.55m pay rise this year. And that's not enough for him.
The UK's richest are using their access to power to demand they're paid more, given uncapped bonuses, and taxed less. This is how inequality entrenches itself.
If you are worried about losing the Pension winter fuel payment, then you do need to check if you can claim pension credit. That winter fuel payment was paid to every pensioner, irrespective of income. Many did not need it.

It is important that Dorset Schools are inclusive and supportive of SEND Children are being denied education. Punishment centred regimes belong to the last century. Funding for SEND has to be increased.
Hope someone at @CranborneMiddle reads this piece. Isolation and exclusion of young children does not help development; kids should not be treated this way so young. It’s the flawed application of Behaviourism. An excluded child means the school has failed.
Respect isn't about titles or positions—it's about recognizing everyone's worth equally. Always treat the janitor with the same respect you would a CEO. #Equality#Respect
The G20 could set a global minimum tax for billionaires, fighting inequality and raising hundreds of billions.
We need the UK's next government to join Brazil, France, Spain, Germany, South Africa and more to back this proposal.

We welcome the Lib Dem's manifesto pledge to #TaxTheBanks and hope other parties follow suit.
Banks made unexpected extra profits from higher interest rates. It's only right that this money is returned to the households paying those higher rates by way of better public services.
