@magiceggo If there is a different arrangement of hydroxyl groups (more 1,2 arrangements) you might be able to functionalize to an acetal (reversibly) using a mild acid and acetone. Might make them different enough for chromatography.
@NMRspectroscopy A has protons on both rings capable of W coupling whereas B does not. Protons on the N-ring for B will be two doublets, whereas A should have a doublet and then a dd.
@NMRspectroscopy My initial guess would be either rotomers or diasteromeric interactions being caused by the new solvent system, i.e. supramolecular arrangements.

@robertnulrich I also maintain that the SCOTUS stole Congress' power to strike down laws in Marbury vs Madison. Both Congress and the President have mechanisms in their hands to tell the SCOTUS to jump off a bridge because they can't make anyone obey their rulings by themselves.
@robertnulrich The thing to remember about the SCOTUS is that it lacks a key feature: an enforcement mechanism. Andrew Jackson, Lincoln, and FDR basically told the court to kiss their ass. "John Marshall has made his decision. Let him enforce it with his army."
