@PeacefulFathers This is you returning to Self.
Allow your body to slip silently into the tides... let the fish eat and return your essence into nature.
I've been a seeker of peace for a long while - as an inadvertent defense mechanism... soothing my ego - an escape hatch of sorts.
When what I actually need - is freedom. Freedom from self imposed restraints - found through the expression of truth (translating to love).
In some very interesting ways... the journey of my growth has been about compensating...
Like lying on a rock, and instead of moving the rock, building up a thicker callus so I don't feel the rock as much...
The result - losing even more of myself in the process.
What's amazing with growth though - is that I can hold that lesson in my heart, learn from it - and let go the need to compensate any more.
The real path is truth - not to control an outcome or harm others, but to full accept & love my Self.
Truth is not a tactic - it's a stance.
Truth is not a means to an end to 'get' a result - any sense of 'this for that' is an assumption that we control the future... which creates anxiety and disappointment.
Truth is our own internal light, embracing our true Self.
My Actions:
My response in the present moment. I can act in alignment with my values, or out of reaction. Action doesn’t always mean doing… sometimes it means choosing calm, restraint or disengagement to gain context.
Digging into the concept of control.
I can control:
My Attention:
Where I place my awareness.
I can’t always control my thoughts, but I can choose which ones I attend to, amplify, or let pass. What I give my attention to creates my reality.
My Intention:
The orientation of my inner Self. Am I open or closed? Will I be defensive or curious? Loving or shut down? I get to choose the tone of my presence… even (especially) in chaos. It’s not about what ‘happens to us’ it’s about how we handle it.
The moment speaking your truth feels like a threat, you’ve abandoned yourself to comfort.
You don’t need to be a dick about it - and, you can say what you mean. If all it took was a single wrong word to ruin a relationship - did you really have a relationship to begin with?
I used to grasp for peace as a reaction to circumstance, what if it became an unchangeable frequency I emit?
Not defense or offense... simply a presence to hold.
When we truly begin to see ourselves, experiencing true peace goes from possibility to reality.
Peace isn’t passive.
It’s not hiding. It’s not avoidance. It’s not needing silence.
It’s a stance. Like love. Like confidence. It doesn’t collapse when someone yells. It doesn’t vanish when the couch is covered in laundry. It holds - it emanates from within.
@landforce@JordanRogers26 Taking this approach to heart… went from never making a vid to having 40 shorts scheduled on all socials a month out - 3 weeks in since we started, goal is to show up every day and do the thing.
Self-awareness isn't the end goal - it's where the real work begins.
I used to bury, judge and avoid my emotion around uncomfortable truths.
Now I probe, assess, question and seek, without judgment.
What's the hardest truth you've learned about yourself that helped you grow?
