I almost hesitate to promote this, because it wasn't really intended to be a piece. I just sort of sat down and it came out. Maybe someone else out there has the same type of day today, and it'll speak to them.

Here are my thoughts on the Supreme Court tariff ruling. TL/DW: the court got it right. Congress clearly did not intend to delegate all of its authority to the President. If you want tariffs, pass a law. https://t.co/aRF1Vynfwj
CBS News Exclusive: An internal DHS document shows that less than 14% of nearly 400,000 individuals arrested by ICE in President Trump's first year back in power had violent criminal records.
It's the most detailed look yet at who ICE has arrested.

This is hard to watch, but it is the best moment by moment analysis of the shooting that I’ve see. There is no defense for this. Even the administration has mostly given up trying. https://t.co/YjQ3VV7NkO
Smart Republicans are reading the room on this. Numbers on immigration are bad and about to get worse. At a certain point politicians will prioritize survival.
Oklahoma GOP Gov. KEVIN STITT to @DanaBashCNN:
"Americans don't like what they're seeing right now. ... he's getting bad advice right now. The president needs to let the American people -- what is the solution? How do we bring this to conclusion? And I think only the president can answer that question, because it's complicated. We have to enforce federal laws, but we need to know, what is the endgame? And I don't think it's to deport every single non-U.S. citizen."
One of the biggest problems we have in America right now is we don’t operate off the same set of facts. It was true that mostly criminals were being detained by ICE, but it IS NOT true now and hasn’t been for awhile. It is no longer “the worst of the worst”…. That is a choice.
Where are all the conservatives who for years railed against “cancel culture” and the chilling effect it had on political speech? This is way worse than someone being fired for making an offensive joke online. This is the government using its power to help suppress speech.
BREAKING: ABC has pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely following comments he made in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder.
Trump’s FCC chair, Brendan Carr, earlier appeared on MAGA propagandist Benny Johnson’s show and threatened to revoke ABC and Disney’s broadcast licenses if they didn’t take action against Kimmel.
This is so well said but @ezraklein. We are all safe or none of us are. Everyone who is in even the smallest way involved in political discussion or debate, even if it’s among just your friends and family should do some soul searching today.
Ezra Klein on Charlie Kirk:
“You can dislike much of what Kirk believed and the following statement is still true: Kirk was practicing politics in exactly the right way. He was showing up to campuses and talking with anyone who would talk to him. He was one of the era’s most effective practitioners of persuasion. When the left thought its hold on the hearts and minds of college students was nearly absolute, Kirk showed up again and again to break it. Slowly, then all at once, he did. College-age voters shifted sharply right in the 2024 election.
“That was not all Kirk’s doing, but he was central in laying the groundwork for it. I did not know Kirk and I am not the right person to eulogize him. But I envied what he built. A taste for disagreement is a virtue in a democracy. Liberalism could use more of his moxie and fearlessness. In the inaugural episode of his podcast, Gov. Gavin Newsom of California hosted Kirk, admitting that his son was a huge fan. What a testament to Kirk’s project.”
“Kirk and I were on different sides of most political arguments. We were on the same side on the continued possibility of American politics. It is supposed to be an argument, not a war; it is supposed to be won with words, not ended through bullets. I wanted Kirk to be safe for his sake, but I also wanted him to be safe for mine, and for the sake of our larger shared project. The same is true for Shapiro, for Hoffman, for Hortman, for Thompson, for Trump, for Pelosi, for Whitmer. We are all safe, or none of us are.”

There is no doubt that Talarico has the juice. This is an excellent launch video. If the Republicans are stupid enough to nominate @KenPaxtonTX that seat is in play.
I’m running for the U.S. Senate.
Billionaires have taken over Texas and taken over America — but together, we can take power back for working people.
