Mikel Arteta on fans not being convinced by Havertz after three matches: “More than two months [people weren’t convinced by Ødegaard]. Gabriel Magalhães was the same. White could not play as a full-back. Ramsdale wasn’t good enough & now you sign another goalkeeper, it’s a catastrophe! Saka was a left-back, eh? Now he’s playing right-wing. Granit Xhaka, we have so many examples, good examples. The players have to love what they do & I think they love more what they do when they feel supported.” #afc

The hardest job on the pitch at times, the pros get it wrong with multiple camera angles and VAR. Remember, sometimes our referees are still school children.

"You are wrong. You didn't learn. The line to win or lose is so tight. People still think the manager who wins is a genius and the manager who loses is a disaster."
- Pep Guardiola
Fascinating insight from AFC Bournemouth and Eddie Howe. Of course they know the why or the how, but reinforcing, demanding and keeping the demands to the fore of the footballers mind/focus, that's the eye for detail.
In a managerial position it's vital to realise you can't make everyone happy. You have got to do what you believe is best. You will have to endure tough times, but stay strong in your beliefs & you'll reap the rewards long term. After all, nothing worthwhile in life comes easy.💪
For 11 years of service, for 369 appearances, for 64 goals, for 62 assists, for those Wembley winners, for coming back from that injury to achieve what you have with us, for EVERYTHING you’ve given to this club, we just want to say…
THANK YOU, @aaronramsey! ❤️
Too many youth coaches miss this: how a player treats teammates on —and off— the field reveals “real” character/leadership. Leaders don’t point fingers or make excuses. They support teammates, build them up when they are struggling and make sure everyone on the team feels valued.
70% of kids quit sports before the age of 14! Why? Because in most cases kids don’t quit because they dislike sports, they quit because they dislike the judgement and pressure applied on them from coaches & parents. it’s no longer fun. Remember it’s about them them, not us!
