The $150 million cut to LAPD funding & reallocation of $250m to communities of color comes as a result of PROTEST and ORGANIZING. This step forward was won by the people.

Not only are we demanding #JusticeforBre, #JusticeForFloyd, #JusticeForAhmaud and so many others, we’re working to build the systemic power needed to solve these problems at their root: in the policies and laws that govern our society.

In solidarity and to focus on listening and challenging our own white-privileged assumptions, I will be muted from June 1-7.
I will not share any of our my own content.
I will amplify the voices of #POC & repost in my feed.

@aishasparkle I am so sorry. That is awful. I will never truly know what that is like, but with ever fiber in my body I want to help change it, and my neighborhood is filled with others who do too: Yes, I’m sure there are racists here, but most of us are not and will gladly march with you.
@aishasparkle I live in this area and my neighborhood is filled with people who marched and protested and are actively supporting systemic change for POC. We are not indifferent. But if you want to come protest here, I will gladly walk with you.
