@priya_Thakur786 I've used Linux on my own computers for decades, but if I were running an IT department I'd probably choose macOS. It will be more cost-effective to support a standard that works for everyone in a company, including non-developers. MacOS runs popular Adobe & Microsoft software.
Everyone who cares about climate should understand this. Texas, with no pro-climate policies, has blown passed California in clean energy. In large part because Texas has less red tape and makes it easier to build.
@nickbot21@elonmusk I worry that this is drawing in Russia and China to provide military equipment and expertise to Iran. There's a near-zero chance that regime change and spreading democracy will work. Iran is going to level up to be a more effective adversary, and still have the same ideology.
@robh279@Tech_girlll I just started using Claude two days ago. In my SPARE TIME I worked on a couple of things: To-Do web app (Clojure), typewriter simulator (Python), and refactored a small website to eliminate Next.js. I don't know Python, but the Clojure, HTML, CSS, etc that it wrote isn't slop.
This scares some people, but I'm very optimistic about it. If you have an idea for something, writing code might not be a barrier anymore. Don't like how other apps work? Create your own personalized version. Good ideas are now more valuable than the ability to write code.
I don't think people realize how disruptive AI is on software development as a career. I've been programming since the '90s, and after trying out Claude on some personal projects, I think getting paid to write code is coming to an end.
I didn't write a line of code. I didn't even open an IDE. This is probably weeks worth of work completed in a couple of afternoons, without needing to know how to program.
@engineers_feed I don't see a driver in the cab, so none of them 😆. Or...
All of them, none of them, or a combination.
A. Driving (decelerating), or not driving while facing down a hill.
B. Driving, or parked on flat ground.
C. Driving (accelerating), or parked facing up a hill.
Junk mail-elimination effort is going well. This is a fairly typical week for me now. I received two pieces of junk mail, and one piece of regular mail. I suspect most of what @USPS delivers to everyone is unwanted junk. What a HUGE waste of resources!
