spencer pratt is a perfect example of why getting rid of trump isnt enough. there's a bunch of other young trumps out there who are gonna ride his exact playbook word for word
@michelle_byoung@EvansMartez Which is kind of ironic because I always got the feeling that they never enjoyed the "fun" aspects of the party - like the conventions - in the way the Clintons & Bidens & others did. (I feel like Harris/Emhoff liked it too.)
@michelle_byoung I'm also dealing w/ parents who are older and easily descend into that cycle on a personal level. IT IS SO HARD. But I try to follow Carrie Fisher's advice - take my broken heart and make art. My personal medium is clay, but other forms can be a meditative practice too.
@shauna1187@Maestro4Maestro I absolutely get that. I also get where the Bidens might question everyone and everything. They were hurt by people they'd known for 50 years!
@BookerGWash The LGBTQIA movement would not have happened with out Black people... and not just those in the queer community. A friend of mine attended the annual HRC banquet for many years, and has multiple photos with John Lewis. He was often the keynote speaker.
@Maestro4Maestro@shauna1187 And to be fair, Jill's husband had just been betrayed by supposed long time allies. People he considered friends (and we know how loyal Joe is...). I firmly believe that it was the multi-layered situation that caused personal tensions. I don't think Jill trusted anyone @ that pt
@athausch@Sigmundine2@SarahIronside6 In essence, center left people. It is a diverse group, but the easiest gut check is if you look to Black women and how they vote. The base is also the one who doesn't just point fingers and "should" all over candidates w/ purity tests, but are the boots on the ground workers.
@Sigmundine2 I didn't donate a lot, but I have teh same feelings. I decided to focus my efforts elsewhere. Looking into ways I can activate voters, etc. from my very Blue state & district, like Postcards to Voters & getting people to vote, or helping small campaigns that have big impact.
@VeeCeeMurphy76 Jill is pissed about the disrespect towards her husband, and I understand. But it is too soon. Hell, I don't even say this among friends right now, even though I do think he had a strong chance.
This is Bodie. His presence indicates the beginning of Pride Month. May his whimsy and steadfastness bring joy and confidence to all. 14/10 the parade starts right behind him 🌈🐾

You stepped forward when the world needed leadership, bringing light, compassion, and attention to people facing unimaginable hardship.
I am proud to call you my friend. Your husband is surely looking down on you with great pride—and so am I.
