Press Conference For Missing 14 Year Old In Statesville:

Sheriff Campbell, alongside the FBI, provided an update today regarding the disappearance of 14-year-old Gideon Ferguson, who was safely located earlier today.

Gideon was found after he walked back into the search area and sat in the yard of a nearby residence. The homeowner noticed him and immediately dialed 911.
Deputies responded and quickly confirmed the juvenile was the missing 14-year-old who had been reported missing for the past three days.

Sheriff Campbell stated that the area where Gideon was located had been heavily searched during the investigation. He emphasized that the family who found the boy is in no way involved in his disappearance.

Sheriff Campbell expressed his sincere gratitude to all agencies and personnel involved in the search efforts, including multiple sheriff’s offices from across the state, Iredell County Rescue, Iredell Search and Rescue, and numerous fire departments that assisted throughout the operation.

Sheriff Campbell also expressed his appreciation to the local businesses that stepped up to support first responders by providing food, water, and other essential supplies throughout the search efforts. He specifically thanked Sheetz, Run In Food, and other local businesses for their generosity.

In addition, Sheriff Campbell extended a special thank you to Randy Marion for assisting in broadcasting information about the missing boy on billboards across the state, helping to increase public awareness during the search.

@BrianEntin I know this may not be national news, but this boy is missing not far from Mooresville, NC. I find awfully coincidental there is also a boy in Philadelphia missing and they are linking this to their gaming. Roblox is more dangerous than people know.

Day 3: Missing 14 Year Old Gideon Andrew Ferguson.

Today marks Day 3 of the search for missing 14-year-old Gideon Ferguson. At this time, there are no significant new developments to report beyond the continued expansion of search efforts. Resources from across the state are currently deployed in Iredell County to assist with the ground search.

Assets from Burke County and Nash County are on scene, along with assistance from surrounding counties including Davie, Rowan and Cabarrus.

As previously reported, the FBI is involved and continues to utilize its investigative tools, including access to media platforms, gaming systems, and potentially cellular data.

We can also confirm that Gideon changed clothing prior to his disappearance. Many have asked why a clothing description has not been released. The reason is simple: neither law enforcement nor his parents know what he was wearing at the time he went missing. The clothing he wore to school on Wednesday was located during the early hours of the investigation that same day.

Any additional verified information will be shared as it becomes available. Until then, we ask the community to continue praying for a miracle and for Gideon’s safe return home to his family.
