Feeling depressed? Your family doc or a psychiatrist will likely prescribe an antidepressant. This med will take 6+ weeks to work - a long type to wait when you feel like shit. Here's something interesting. You likely also meet the diagnostic criteria for anxiety. This comorbidity can run around 70%. I recommend that you ask for a script for an anxiolytic (Valium, Xanax, etc.). Probably only until the antidepressant begins working. Anxiolytics work within minutes. This strategy provides some relief during that six or so weeks. Discuss the possibility with your doc. #depression #anxiety #psychology
