@HadleyFreeman I just read "Madness in their method: have we fallen out of love w actorly excess?" I feel it necessary to note that Meisner's technique supports none of the behaviors u note as peculiar to "American" acting. He stressed imagination over embodiment at all costs.
@rickygervais just saw Humanity. You got me, friend. Tears of laughter & of the heart. “Barry” followed by “we’re all gonna die, so…” Tears. And then, “keep that in mind as I leave you with this…” Dead. Thank you for everything you do for a laugh, you fucker you *nuggie*
Here’s my face. Here’s my face if I were a cartoon. Here’s all my data & the data you can get of my friends thru me so you can manipulate world leadership & tip power in a way we don’t understand cuz we’re waaaaaaay too excited about our faces looking like cartoons.
@NPR dear editors: you gotta stop requiring your anchors to respond to questions with their “mmm”s and “mmhmm”s. We can tell it’s fabricated and it takes us right out of the interview. Also: interpreters : verbal :: translators : written.
@RosieFriedman love the story on Morricone. My consistent question to the media (ur not alone in this): why haven’t you learned the difference between “translator” and “interpreter”? Translation : written :: Interpretation : spoken. Stop making this mistake.
Leaving room for comedians: There’s nothing funny about an enraged, racist, rich, white couple, woman with her finger on the trigger of a PPK while pointing it at a group of protesters in “their” neighborhood. It’s terrifyingly representative of the danger they pose to society.
Saying the disposal of monuments, idols, and images that represent oppression, marginalization, and inequality erases their existence is like saying pulling a baby tooth erases your childhood. It is not destruction. It is maturity.
Couldn’t feel safer: we have a “super-duper” missile now, people. Also, you have to choose “duper” as the word you MEANT to type to usurp auto-correct’s programming. “Super-duper,” y’all.
First night I got high, I thought, “a shower would be nice.” And I was right, it turned out. It was nice. I just got high and took a shower. Full circle, I’m still right. It does, indeed, feel nice.
I should not like this as much as I do @bethgallag@stephharpnyc@AllieJessing @jennyjanuary I don’t know Twitter well enough to know if that’s how you tag people or not.
