"This is a place where you can learn to steal, lie, cheat and get into drugs. It is cold, hateful and destroys everything it comes into spiritual, emotional and physical contact with," a woman incarcerated at Tutwiler Prison told @AnnistonStar in 1974. What has changed?
If ADOC AND THE ABPP, would just do the right thing and release THESE grandparents and great grandparents who has served decades inside of Alabama DEATH camps. It would solve a whole lot on ALABAMA'S PRISON problems.@Erictaylor2021 @wiselon7 @RepEngland70@JRayHereToStay
PLEASE LET'S DEMAND THAT THESE ELDERLY PEOPLE WHO HAS DONE OVER 20 YEARS INSIDE OF ALABAMA'S DEATH TRAPPED PRISONS SYSTEM. THEY ARE HOLDING THESE PEOPLE FOR FAR TOO LONG!!! HOLD THEM SO LONG UNTIL THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. THEY DIE WITH NO ONE LEFT TO CLAIM THEIR REMAINS.
WHO SEEMS NOT TO BELIEVE IN SECOND CHANCES. THESE ELDERLY PEOPLE HAS WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND PAYING THEIR DEBT TO SOCIETY DECADES AGO. SENTENCED UNDER AN UNJUST LAW. (.HOFA) THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN MADE LAW. NOW THE ELDERLY IS BEING SUBJECTED TO ABUSE EACH AND EVERY DAY.
@Erictaylor2021@JRayHereToStay @SentencingAlte1 @natematters @wiselon7 @RepEngland70. I just like to take a moment and SALUTE ALL THE ELDERLY MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAS ENDURED SO MUCH PAIN AND SUFFERING AT THE HANDS OF ABPP, ADOC, AND ALSO SOME OF THE HEARTLESS LAW MAKERS

B R A V O to the rocket scientist!! Thanks @leahanelson they couldn’t figure it out if it were in a eagles eye!! The problem is the don’t want to fix the problem they want to fix their pockets!! More prisons = More $$ @GovernorKayIvey @ADOCDunn @RepEngland70#alpolitics
Everyone in Alabama should be demanding that Tommy Bryant resign immediately. We must make it clear that he and folks that think and act like him are not welcome. We can not work towards burying the past with people like Tommy Bryant in our future. #RESIGNTOMMYBRYANT#HEMUSTGO
Brent Hester, 30, died at Ventress Prison Feb 21. His autopsy shows he overdosed with meth, fentanyl & morphine in his system. I just told his mother his cause of death. She said no one from the prison told her how her son died & she first learned of his death on Facebook. 1/5
Brent's mother, Glenda, told me he was a good person but struggled with drugs. "He was my baby and we were close," she said. "He'd even hold my hand in public." He called her every night & when she didn't hear from him the day he died, she knew something was wrong. 2/5
This was Brent's second time in prison for crimes dating back to 2009 including robbery, burglary, forgery & fraud. His mom said his first stay at Fountain prison is where he learned to shoot up meth. When he got out of Fountain, she sent him to rehab to try & help him. 3/5
He did OK for a while, but started using meth again & in 2016 went back to prison. Glenda says Brent wanted to get better, but was surrounded by drugs at Ventress. "And that's supposed to be their rehabilitation prison," she said. "The guards were selling him the drugs." 4/5
One of the reasons @TheJusticeDept sued @ALCorrections is over lack of control & security that allows drugs to flow into prisons, even during a pandemic. Brent Hester's crimes were connected to his addiction, but instead of helping him, the state locked him in prison to die. 5/5
"They are so focused on building those prisons that they are basically overlooking the current humanitarian crisis going on in their facilities," says @RepEngland70. How can @GovernorKayIvey have confidence in current ADOC leaders & parole board?
