During my PhD defence, my external examiner said that my thesis was 'the best illustrated thesis I have ever examined' 🎨

I really enjoy illustration and I believe it makes the content a lot more accessible ☺️

Finished my latest painting! 🎨

Inspired by the juxtaposition of drama and peace of the coastline of Aotearoa 🌊

Happy with the result but looking forward to returning to more familiar mediums - ink and watercolours 💚

I've ALWAYS struggled with portraits but have recently put in lots of practice to improve on them ✍️

These pencil self-portraits are 6 months apart and I think the improvements are remarkable!

6 months ago I slipped into someone elses graduation robes (feeling like an absolute fraud) to get this picture before moving to New Zealand

Today my PhD defence corrections have been accepted and this picture is finally justified and I can pretend I had a graduation 🎓

One of the highlights from my PhD was doing a 6 month placement with the Welsh Government soil and land use policy team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

In this role, my creativity was valued and I developed these visuals as part of the reports I worked on 🎨
