The next chapter of Bulldog spirit has arrived, and he's already winning hearts. 💙 Meet Griff III—a smart, eager-to-please pup coming from the same loving family as Griff II. He's learning from the best: his mentor and big brother, Griff II. The two have become fast friends, and Griff II personally played a role in choosing his successor.

Griff III will serve as "Griff-in-Training" until Griff II's official retirement in May. Catch his sneak peek debut at Friday's men's basketball game on Dec 5. There will also be a private welcome event for faculty, staff, and students that afternoon.

Talking to independent physicians, it's obvious that the big insurance carriers are doing to them, what their PBMs are doing to independent pharmacies.

They deny, underpay, slow pay, clawback, and create administrative mazes, knowing their victims don't have the time or resources to fight.

Why ? By putting financial pressures on physicians and pharmacies, it makes them more likely to sell their businesses to them , close their doors, or refer the business to their captive pharmacy or provider. All benefitting the biggest insurance companies

We need to ditch the concept of "claims" and make every delivery of medications or care as a billable event that must, by law, be paid on a timely basis , with interest charges for any delays. If the physician or pharmacy doesn't deliver , the carrier has plenty of legal options already. As does the patient.

This is not an efficient market. This is the big guy abusing the little guy. It needs to change to better the care we get in this country

🚨 New statement from NCPA CEO B. Douglas Hoey on President Trump’s Pfizer deal and the TrumpRx program:

“The insurance companies and their PBMs get paid more when patients and taxpayers pay more. That’s the problem. All these manufacturer websites are workarounds. They don’t fix the heart of the problem.”

“TrumpRx appears to bypass the relationship between patients and their local physicians and pharmacists. Direct-to-Patient programs can be dangerous.”

The Donna and Darnell Pettengill Civic Leadership Academy at Drake University recently welcomed high school students from across the nation. This transformative three-day experience, hosted by @TheRayCenter in association with The Ron and Jane Olson Institute for Public Democracy, empowers young people to become ethical leaders and engaged citizens who can create meaningful change without waiting for adulthood.

Throughout the program, students developed crucial skills through interactive workshops on leadership, communication, stress management, and integrity. They gained valuable insights from civic and business leaders, including representatives from United Way of Central Iowa, the Iowa legislature, and the Iowa judicial branch, and expanded their understanding of government through tours of the Iowa State Capitol and Judicial Building.

The experience extended beyond learning as students made a direct community impact by volunteering at Meals from the Heartland, where they packed meals for families experiencing food insecurity.
