@DavidFajgenbaum Agree! Also consider other currently available on-label therapies (for rare diseases often 0) and their comparative effectiveness/ toxicity
@DavidFajgenbaum Thank you for sharing this deeply personal and beautiful story about your mom’s journey and for continuing the charge for improving health and opportunities for those with rare diseases!
Funds raised through Light The Night allow LLS to fund treatments for patients who are suffering from all forms of 🩸 cancers. Since 2017, LLS has helped advance 85% of the blood cancer treatment options approved by the FDA.

I know these loved ones & patients for whom I care have had access to better therapy because of research, education & outreach provided by LLS. There is still much work to be done, which I pledge to do as a physician-researcher, & which LLS continues to critically support.
@DavidFajgenbaum@ElevatePrize Thank you for bringing attention to rare diseases! The fact is that many if not most rare diseases are not listed as an approved indication under any therapeutic, therefore coverage of therapy usually denied even when evidence supports the therapy.
New findings published in @BloodAdvances indicate that improvements in #peripheralbloodsmear training are needed, as many institutions lack structured training programs and there are no peer-reviewed recommendations for teaching https://t.co/gLXyZ1xcgj
@RepScottPeters Please sign the "Dear Colleague" letter to help address ongoing drug shortages that are reaching an all-time high, especially in hematology and oncology care. I continue to see the devastating impact these shortages are having on our patients.
Alongside 30 organizations representing patients across the U.S., ASH condemns Judge Kacsmaryk's ruling that aims to block access to #mifepristone. This decision sets a dangerous precedent that erodes the authority of @US_FDA. Read the joint statement: https://t.co/ojF540vIoU
@GitaSuneja @fumikochino@LichterKatie@pre_rad@reshmajagsi Agree! While some (not all) meetings are more optimal in-person, including a virtual option improves inclusion of breadth of voices!
