Unconscious Bias Researcher: The person you don't relate to could be the best person to hire | Not your average academic | Views my own | FRKM - WAM? |
@Matt_Pinner I have a PhD, my husband an MBA - our son had no interest in college and went into trade. He is happy, we are happy for him. It is my colleagues at my University I teach at that have the most negative reactions. . .
@Jim_Jordan Probably the same people who say that a person who failed to protect his athletes from a sexual predator should not be an elected official. I am sure you thank Trump for sharing that view with you as well.
We've been with @ShannonsInsure for 15 years. JT took a rogue rock off a truck, cracked the windscreen. With coverage an OE windscreen (doesn't leak and actually matches electronics) they want $2500. Good way to lose customers with 6 vehicles & their home & contents policy.
@Swifties4Hope I am in the white category - my illness can't be seen, but it is shortening my lifespan daily and when people find out the most common response is 'but you don't look sick'. . .
@Solomon_Buchi @SilumaKhanya Exact same advice my husband gave me 25 years ag. His degrees are in English (composition and literature) and communication. Reading good books, not fluff, is invaluable.
@DeannaDeanna061@WallStreetApes My husband was just at the eye casualty clinic Monday after getting diagnosed with scrap metal in his eye that morning at urgent care from work on the car Sunday. Total cost: $45 for parking and meds. 2% of salary in taxes covers our universal healthcare. In AU.
@TizzyEnt I no longer live in the US - so I can say Happy Birthday, and reach out to my friends in the US to participate. I wish they had a donate option. Not seeing one on their website. Also, originally from California. His exploitation of my state is appalling.
@kawasak1enjoyer I taught my son fiscal responsibility. At 28 he has no debt other than his rent. Did your parents not teach you that? A lot of videos on youtube to learn from if they didn't. It is a thing called personal accountability.
@SharonJumper@kvetchbian@SharonJumper I would love to talk to you more about this because I am doing similar with my students, as it is an expected skill in business now, but with use in a responsible and ethical way.
@kvetchbian My lecturer perspective. Turnitin AI reports are notoriously unreliable. My 2 coppers: ask for an oral exam for your lab report. Request an oral exam where you can be questioned about your approach, method, interpretation, justification of information included in your report.
@imnoloon Something my father taught me was that what other people think of me is none of my business. So I will go to a coffee shop, restaurant, movie, theatre etc by myself nor giving a single care for what others think. Confidence comes from within.
@aliciaandrz I had a crapstastic meeting with a colleague this week that ended with "I know you are a woman and don't understand statistics and logic". . .then went on to incorrectly explain statistics to me. I needed to see this from another individual today.
@aliciaandrz Going on 50 and started with Botox a year ago. Purely for vanity reasons, I can be honest about that. (I know not in the 40 or younger category but sometimes I like to not pay attention to instructions like my students ๐คฃ๐)
@JUSTMlGH@TechGuyTony@SeanMcCarthyCom@DOGE I love AU but the US constitution says I must pay taxes to them as well or pay a lot of money to renounce citizenship. Something a lot of people donโt know about.
@JUSTMlGH@TechGuyTony@SeanMcCarthyCom@DOGE Yes - born and raised in a military family in which my father served 30 years but now living in Australia. Double taxation is a pain.
