A transformative renovation is underway at @Harvard Graduate School of Design's iconic Gund Hall. This #ShawmutBuilt project, in partnership with @BrunerCott, focuses on carbon-conscious upgrades to the 38,000-square-foot concrete-modernist structure, originally designed by John Andrews. The phased conservation enhances energy efficiency while preserving the building’s historic design elements, including the replacement of its complex curtainwall and special window assemblies. BIM-based models for carbon emissions, energy consumption, and lighting are guiding the process to ensure heightened storm resistance and sustainable performance. Once complete, Gund Hall will serve as a model for modern architectural conservation.
