BREAKING: Congressman Jamie Raskin shocks MAGA world by conducting a surprise oversight visit to an ICE facility — and what he discovered there is absolutely shocking.

"I just exercised my right as a Member of Congress to conduct an unannounced oversight visit of the ICE field facility in Baltimore," Raskin wrote on X. "The staff I met with respected my right to visit, but what I saw was disgraceful."

"Kristi Noem has a budget of $75 billion she could use to ensure humane conditions, but we saw 60 men packed into a room shoulder-to-shoulder, 24-hours-a-day, with a single toilet in the room and no shower facilities," he recounted. "They sleep like sardines with aluminum foil blankets. Whether it’s for three days or seven days, nobody would want a member of their family warehoused there."

"The room set aside for dangerous criminals and violent offenders was empty. We’re demanding immediate answers and action," Raskin concluded.

This report should horrify every American with a conscience. Donald Trump and his fascist lackeys are transforming our country into an unrecognizable nightmare dystopia with each passing day. This kind of mass dehumanization is how historical atrocities begin and this administration's willingness to act with such cruelty stems from the fact that they simply do not view these nonwhite migrants as people.

The last part of Raskin's post is particularly telling. Trump's entire immigration narrative is built around the lie that he's targeting violent criminals to keep Americans safe, that all of his state-sanctioned brutality is justified because in the end we'll all be safer. In reality, the rooms built for violent offenders stand empty while innocent families are forced into cages. This has always been about seizing more power for Trump and pandering to his racist base.

There can no longer be any arguing on the matter. Between this new horror and the killings in Minnesota under her leadership, Kristi Noem has revealed herself to be a profound threat to American democracy. She must be impeached and fully investigated.

Techniques intended to heal."

"Alex carried patience, compassion and calm as a steady light within him," she continued. "Even at the very end, that light was there. I recognized his familiar stillness and signature calm composure shining through during those unbearable final moments captured on camera."

"It does not surprise me that his final words were, 'Are you okay?' Caring for people was at the core of who he was. He was incapable of causing harm. He lived a life of healing, and he lived it well."

America suffered a great loss when this inspiring man was killed by masked federal agents. May his life be a call to all of us to strive to help our fellow men and women. We don't have to descend into nihilism and hatred. We can heed the better angels of our nature and find a way out of this darkness.
