Marehemu Khadija Said Salmin alikuwa mmoja wa waanzilishi wa tasnia ya utangazaji nchini na aliweka historia kwa kuwa miongoni mwa watangazaji waliotangaza tukio la kihistoria la Uhuru wa Tanganyika usiku wa Ijumaa Desemba 8, 1961 kuamkia Jumamosi Desemba 9, 1961.

Kufuatia kifo chake, watangazaji waliobaki walioshiriki kutangaza tukio hilo la kihistoria sasa ni wawili pekee ambao ni Bi Violet Maro pamoja na Hamza Kasongo.

Tasnia ya habari na mawasiliano nchini imepoteza mmoja wa waasisi wake muhimu aliyetoa mchango mkubwa katika maendeleo ya utangazaji wa redio Tanzania.
