What bothers me about it is they have a huge fight, half-assed apologies over the phone and then go 2 weeks no contact to have a talk in person, and it NEVER HAPPENS, because Shane proposes to Ilya as soon as he's in the door. The level of manipulation here is absolutely wild

I've been thinking about Ilya's plan to propose. He wants to do it with candles on the deck, in Shane's favourite place in the world, sweet and romantic. And when he is proposed to, he gets a cheap knock-off of his own idea, with electric candles in his house, ill fitting ring

I never liked that bit either. Loving someone doesn't mean anything they do or say to you okay. And Ilya "Shane is too good for me and I need to be fixed" Rozanov thinking you're a great boyfriend doesn't mean you are one.

@rozanovsjane En los libros de la saga todos describen a Ilya como un genio nato y especifican que el lo hace por diversión, básicamente el no tiene el régimen que tiene shane y aún así está a la par. Scott, Erick, y Troy entre otros personajes lo describen como una leyenda
