when we say their concerns with asian/poc representation starts and ends with hudson thats what it looks like. you’d think they would be the happiest to finally have a irl parallel to their favorite character but they only know how to be condescending about it
Just by looking at some hrtwt tweets, you can tell they don't actually see Shane and Ilya as a mlm couple. They see them as a straight couple where Shane is the smart, sensitive, capable girlfriend and Ilya is the dumb, clueless boyfriend who makes people go "how did this guy manage to pull her?"
Also, stop bringing up his fake teeth as a mark of ugliness. He’s a multimillionaire, I’m sure he has a good dentist AND the same
would be said of every other hockey player
re: is ilya ugly in book canon. obviously no but he isn't AS attractive as Shane is, and had these not been smutty romance novels, the idea of Ilya being unconventionally attractive or even more Ovechkin-esque would be really compelling.
post hr connor has two major ambassadorships, snl, multiple a24 movies, and turpentine. so no, he does not rely on hr any longer for relevancy or career progression. his foot isn't in the door, that was november. he's been fully across the threshold for months
Criminal Minds: Evolution showrunner Erica Messer and cast members A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Paget Brewster, and Aisha Tyler talked about Connor Storrie's participation in the latest Season of the series in a recent interview for TV Insider.

@talentedmsgrace Seriously, Hollywood is littered with famous actors who would have struggled to pull off that monologue in Russian. Connor Storrie has legitimately blown me away with his talents.
@starboyrozy and then when h isn't restrained, and when he "let's it out", it feels out of character (because it WAS and H fucked it up) and not very compelling because the acting is lacking.
@starboyrozy Such a stupid take. Ilya is so multifaceted, to dilute it to loud, sobbing, yelling is so insulting. The performance was so restrained most of the time, but he's actually good so you could still see everything simmering beneath that. Vs H, where "restrained" just appears empty
The Emmy and Oscar talk didn't just magically appear, nor was it something only Connor fans were saying. Go back and look at the tweets from when HR first aired. The gp was full of people talking about how incredible Connor was and saying he deserved that kind of recognition. And later it stopped being just online discourse. People outside of social media started saying the same thing too, even the industry people.
reducing ilya to being a sobbing, yelling performance when connor's strongest moments in the show are all about emotional restraint like this person actually has to be hit on the head....... his costars fucking manager like jesus christ man
a big reason why shane and ilya were so obsessed w eo from the jump was bc playing against the other was the first time either of them felt truly challenged by another player. it’s why they love playing against each other sm. it made the sport much more exciting for both of them
