@waltersaysthin1@JoyceCarolOates You've used the word racist twice now, once to refer to Toni Morrison's work, and again referring to the teachers who supposedly assigned multiple Toni Morrison novels, and I'm left with a very strong and not-at-all subtle suspicion of projection here.
@dobro_the So, I think the observation here, as well as elsewhere, with these young commenters, is that 1) they think left wingers are insufferable women with brightly colored hair 2) they don't know they're Fascists.
@dobro_the I read some comments about this and some kid said, "Are these left wingers?" and some other kid replied, "nah, punks are classic right wingers." And there were other comments kinda like that, misunderstanding the politics of punk, as well as the politics of NAZIism.
One of the most blatant forms of Christian hypocrisy in our time is Christians holding all ordinary people accountable to the most rigid moral standards while simultaneously holding themselves and their preferred politicians accountable to no standards at all.
@dobro_the It's just a better story. "Guy Gets Clobbered by Moose" isn't news, like people need to be alerted that a moose will fuck you up. This is a news story in the same way "Belligerent Drunk Picks Fight with Giant Bouncer, Gets Bounced" is news - unless someone dies, then it's news
Looking forward to this! We will be talking about my new album with Soulshot and Duke Robillard, “Two Guitars—One Sound” as well as other fun stuff. Here it is! https://t.co/IYPyAiEVCQ
Seems pretty pricey for 1941. I love looking at old menus from the 50s/60/early70s Midwest because the choices are so alien. People would go out for liver and onions, meat loaf, tuna and noodles, catfish, and order milk as a beverage.
@dobro_the Yeah, I may have oversold it a little. But let that be a lesson to them - don't be boring. No one expects music school kids to snort a small mountain of cocaine and crash Johnny Mac's Ferrari, but you can chug an energy drink and start a fight with a stranger at least.
They've NEVER understood the music they listen to, the films they watch, the books they read. GOP candidates at all levels have used or tried to use Born in the USA for decades. These people seem to have cognitive limitations that prevent them from understanding meaning.
It's always been this. The whole 'facts don't care about your feelings' thing was a cliche parroted by dumb guys who have no idea how to tell fact from fiction or recognize a good or bad argument. See: "critical thinker in bio"
