@bitc0inEdu That is the fee market at play, on https://t.co/CIrYiJGEMc, there are (i) info icons on gas used/base fee, that explains it in detail. It rises so much because of demand, people really wanted to be included for the popular nft drop, so they willing to pay 1ETH+, then it drops.

@TimBeiko We would like both, maybe the default would be “safe head”, from our experimentation 4sec is too low, the way we currently solve it is keeping track of the new block, and invalidate all blocks after it (reorg) when doing computation. That way we can still get latest data quickly

At @EthereumDenver we hacked together a full data-blob-transaction prototype! (a.k.a. mini-danksharding)

Data blobs are the first milestone towards full ethereum sharding, enabling rollups like @optimismPBC to grow 100x in capacity.

I saved money by NOT using the recommended MetaMask gas price (the past few months), instead, I used https://t.co/9mA0eGeREs priority / base fee, executed within 30sec.

Next time you do a transaction, do a custom gas price, save fees, so they don't get burned :) #Ethereum
