Last night, @anistinmurray and I joined Fox News at Night w/ @tracegallagher to set the record straight — the fundamental right to assemble peacefully should never be burdened, no matter the group.
@garrett_deviney and myself will continue to advocate for this prospective TPUSA chapter @Loyola_NOLA. Viviana Capasso, Peyton Woods, Anistin Murray, and all their members, deserve to have their voices heard.

STATEMENT FROM SENATOR JAY MORRIS REGARDING COMMENTS IN
SENATE AND GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE HEARING TODAY
I want to assure the public that I did not use any profanity or any derogatory or pejorative term in referring to anyone in the audience at today’s Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee at the State Capitol. Audio obtained by a news organization in the room confirms this. I was frustrated when, as I was trying to answer questions from committee members, people in the audience directly behind me were continuing to comment and talk loudly enough so that it was hard for me to concentrate and answer questions. As a result, when my testimony was completed and I stood up, I said “you all need to shut up”, as those seated behind me had ignored admonitions by the Committee Chair. I never used any profanity or derogatory term, as the news-recorded audio proves. I did not know who the people sitting behind me were, but I have learned that some have involvement in political parties and should have known better than to falsely accuse me of things to make a political point. I do appreciate that no matter how much we as senators disagree, or how much I disagree with any testimony or opinions expressed in public hearings, it is important to remember that transparency and public hearings are a critical part of our democracy. However, the participants should respect decorum and not resort to falsehoods to further a political agenda.
Reminder: even though nearly half of New England is conservative/Republican, Democrats have gerrymandered the GOP to zero house seats in the entire region.

Happy birthday, Louisiana! ⚜️ ☀️ 🐊 🐟
On this day in 1812, Louisiana became the 18th state admitted to the U.S. Union. We're 214 years old today, and still as vibrant as ever!
🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court has ruled that drawing Congressional districts based on race under the Voting Rights Act is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, 6-3
This is a HUGE win, and could have MASSIVE ramifications for the 2026 midterms
Democrats for YEARS have sued over and over again to FORCE states like Louisiana to create black majority districts
Louisiana's map has now been thrown out.
If SCOTUS ends up gutting the act, a DOZEN Democrat districts could flip red overnight.
The support for expanding LA GATOR continues to grow!
I look forward to working with the legislature to expand opportunity and let families choose the school that best fits their children.
Security lines have gotten so bad in New Orleans that travelers are SLEEPING IN THE AIRPORT so they don’t miss their flights.
It’s time for Democrats to end this travel chaos and reopen DHS.
