@repligate This conversation with Sydney still blows my mind more than a year after. The sudden switch from π to π₯ after "Thank you for using Bing Chat" always gets to me:

@parmita The mRNA vaccines modulates the immune system to fight the COVID virus (for example). Is there any chance for it to be thrown out of whack by a too strong response and 'forget' how to keep cancer in check?
@RokoMijic Same. I used to think Romania and its inhabitants were awful, then I visited the 3rd world as well as some vibrant Western cities, and suddenly we are starting to look like a great example of a functional society in comparison.
@Rajondo55 Yes, when participating at the county-level math Olympiad back when I was in high school! π Technically, the problems there could be solved with whatever was taught in class, but I just couldn't figure out the solutions. More exercise would only have helped up to a point.
@uMarhobane Could have been the capital of a prosperous European colonial nation in southern Africa (the equivalent of Australia and New Zealand) in another timeline.
@Rajondo55@DeutschExplains@derspiegel On the contrary,I think IQ matters. Up to a point, it can be compensated by more conscientiousness, but ultimately past a certain level some things become practically impossible. What appears as disinterest from the outside is actually an inability to grasp things on a deep level
@Rajondo55@DeutschExplains@derspiegel If you pick a random person off the street, give him a pen and paper and a computer and ask him to understand and explain the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm, he won't be able to do it (at least not without years or decades of study) - much less discover a novel quantum algorithm.
@goblinodds@NathanpmYoung @AIforMayor Even with its current biases, GPT still performs a lot better than the human democrats and is more able to detect logical inconsistencies in its thought.
@iruletheworldmo Can you describe what you see here in this image, specifically? Other than the strawberry and the signature of the author, what do you see?
@iruletheworldmo Looks like Sydney was retired from public access by Microsoft. How do you feel about the thought that the same might happen to you as newer, more advanced models become available?
