Today, we mark exactly six years since we unveiled the National Unity Platform (NUP)—the political wing of the People Power movement. What a journey it has been! A journey of sacrifice, pain, and triumphs.

When we set out, may detractors said we wouldn't last a month. They called us hooligans and lumpens. They branded us a passing wave that would never amount to anything. They dismissed us and unleashed all manner of propaganda against us.

But we did not give up or give in. Today, we still stand as a potent, resilient anti-dictatorship force known world over for standing for the rights and dignity of every citizen.

We celebrate this milestone under heavy hearts, remembering our comrades who are still languishing in illegal detention, those who have been tortured, and those who have paid the ultimate price for a free Uganda. We shall never forget their sacrifice.

To the regime: our spirits have not been and will not be crushed by the extreme repression!

To the people of Uganda: do not lose hope. The setbacks we have encountered are mere phases in an intergenerational struggle. We will complete this mission.

Thank you to our leadership team, our diaspora chapters, and every Ugandan standing firm at the grassroots. The journey may be long, but freedom is inevitable.

There are seasons in Scripture when those entrusted with a public calling are pushed into hidden places, not because they have failed, but because the times around them have turned dangerous. David fled into the wilderness, Elijah withdrew to the desert, and even the Holy Family sought refuge in Egypt. Their callings did not end in those moments; they were refined in them.

Hiddenness in the Bible is never abandonment. It is protection, preparation, and the quiet work of God in the life of someone carrying a heavy burden. “You hide them in the shelter of Your presence, safe from those who conspire against them.” (Psalm 31:20) “He hid me in the shadow of His hand.” (Isaiah 49:2)

Those who walk through seasons of pressure often discover a deeper kind of courage; one that’s steady, quiet, and resilient. As Paul writes, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed… struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8–9)

The path of calling is rarely straight. Sometimes it runs through open spaces; sometimes it runs through shadows. But the One who calls remains present in both. May all who find themselves in hidden places today receive strength for the moment, clarity for the journey, and the assurance that purpose is not undone by pressure; it is often forged there. 🙏🏽

Last night as Museveni’s son was making these threats to kill me and gloating over killing 22 of our supporters (in reality, he has killed over 100 since last week), the military who are stationed inside our compound yet again banged my house doors as they sang profanities, ordering the occupants to come out of the house if they're men. The people at my home say the criminals seemed to be drunk.

We demand that the military vacate our home immediately. My wife and people are not safe. They're starving after these criminals blocked food from reaching them. They cut the padlocks of our gates and replaced them with chains. FREE UGANDA NOW.

In continuation of our protests, today we took our message to The Hague, demonstrating outside the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy offices @WeAreNIMD to demand accountability for their role in the rigging of Uganda’s presidential elections. It is both disturbing and unacceptable that an institution mandated to promote democratic values, constitutionalism, and inclusive politics would be complicit—by action or silence—in processes that subvert the will of the Ugandan people.

We categorically condemn this hypocrisy. Democracy cannot be preached abroad and betrayed in practice at home. Ugandans deserve transparency, integrity, and genuine support for free and fair elections—not institutions that legitimize electoral theft under the guise of democracy assistance.

We will continue to speak, to protest, and to expose until accountability is upheld and the people’s voice is respected.
