In Gaza, Sudan or Ukraine, humanitarian workers are being attacked while trying to reach people in need.

In South Sudan alone, 36 humanitarian workers have lost their lives this year.

This World Humanitarian Day, we stand with humanitarians everywhere. Their protection and safe, unimpeded access are non-negotiable. The EU is one of the world's largest humanitarian donors and we are determined to stay the course.

Recent threats by Yemen’s Houthis to impose a maritime blockade on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pose a direct threat to regional stability and constitute a dangerous escalation.

The attack on an oil tanker in the Red Sea is unacceptable, illegal, and further inflames an already volatile situation in the region. Navigation must be unimpeded, in the Strait of Hormuz as well as in the Red Sea.

🇪🇺🇸🇦 The EP delegation led by #DARP Chair Lopatka concluded a three-day visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, marking the 18th IPM between the European Parliament and the Shura Council of the Kingdom.

Chairman @ReinholdLopatka stressed: “Europe’s renewed focus on defense is tied to its interest in working more closely with Saudi Arabia on regional security, including efforts to protect commercial shipping and keep trade routes open.” Members stressed the urgency of restoring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and welcomed the Kingdom's advocacy for adherence to international law.

The delegation including @AbirAlsahlani @daniel_freund @jalloul_hana met with leaders of the @ShuraCouncil_SA, government ministers responsible for foreign affairs, the economy, energy and investment, the Saudi #HumanRights Committee, EU business community, and visited the Islamic Port in Jeddah.
