SCI Lusitania recently brought together members and supporters for its annual Gala Dinner in Lisbon, an evening that combined tradition, community and commitment to conservation. Guests enjoyed a memorable performance by a talented young fado singer, accompanied by two exceptional guitarists who offered a fresh interpretation of both traditional fado and popular Portuguese songs. The evening also featured a successful charity auction, with a range of unique and attractive lots helping to raise funds that will support SCI Lusitania’s conservation and advocacy initiatives throughout the year, including efforts to defend sustainable hunting and hunters’ rights.
In addition, the chapter announced a new cooperation agreement with the Portuguese National Police. Through this partnership, specialised training sessions will be organised during the year to enhance hunters’ knowledge of firearm safety, handling and responsible use, contributing to higher safety standards within the hunting community.

🇮🇹 Rome hosted the 39th Convention of the SCI Italian Chapter, one of the largest and most active chapters within SCI Europe. Over three days, members from across Italy, Europe and the USA gathered for exhibitions, gala dinners, shooting competitions and discussions focused on conservation, education and the future of hunting heritage. The weekend also brought together the SCI Europe Committee, led by Miguel Estade, to review progress across European chapters and discuss key conservation initiatives. A pleasure to welcome SCI President Jeff Meyerl, President-Elect Mike Crawford and SCI CEO Laird Hamberlin, who witnessed first-hand the continued growth of SCI Europe. 🌿🏹 Last weekend, the SCI Slovakia team took part in Hunting Day, held in the surroundings of the historic Betliar Castle.

It was a highly successful event where we shared our passion for conservation, sustainable hunting, and environmental education. We were also honoured to be joined by Mr. Bela Hidvégi, who spent the day with us.

Throughout the event, we focused on welcoming new members and helping educate children about nature, wildlife management, and conservation.

Last Saturday, SCI Europe attended the Count Lajos Károlyi Merit Award Ceremony, held at the historic Károlyi Hunting Castle in Palárikovo, Slovakia. Hosted by Count József Károlyi, the ceremony honored individuals whose dedication and leadership have made a lasting contribution to wildlife conservation, sustainable hunting, and the preservation of our hunting heritage.
