According to @GadyGronich, Chief Executive of the Conference of @EuropeanRabbis (CER):
“The decision to bring Yad Vashem to Germany, with educational centers in Munich and Leipzig, sends a strong and historic signal. For Bavaria, this is, above all, a momentous day. With this move, the Bavarian State Government demonstrates unequivocally that it is serious about protecting and fostering Jewish life—not merely in words, but through concrete educational and commemorative work.
Particularly in a time of growing antisemitic threats, education is the decisive key. Those who understand history safeguard the future. These centers will help raise awareness of the Shoah and our society’s responsibility regarding it, to the next generation, ensuring that history never repeats itself.
In recent years, Munich has evolved into one of the most significant focal points of Jewish life in Europe, serving notably as the seat and headquarters of the Conference of European Rabbis. The fact that Yad Vashem will henceforth have a presence here underscores Munich’s special significance for Jewish life, commemorative culture, and educational work throughout Europe. We look forward to this new addition to Munich and to close future cooperation with Yad Vashem.”
This week, @YadVashem announced plans to open two centers in Germany, dedicated to advancing Holocaust education for Germans and the broader European public. The Conference of @EuropeanRabbis warmly welcomes this important initiative.

Today, it continues to serve as a center of worship and community, representing the stability, continuity, and cultural richness of Jewish life in Zurich.

Democracy, too, must be remembered and protected.
