I won the @BIHregeneration Best Microscopy Image Award 2022!
I am really happy to close this great scientific year for me with a recognition like that and looking forward to seeing my image on our Cafeteria wall.
PS: I didn't know frames were that heavy.
Happy to share my work on nanobodies, lymphatics and the kidney !
I had the great opportunity to work and learn between two wonderful labs which made this project possible.
New preprint w. @EvaMariaFunk & René Hägerling + lab @ChariteBerlin: we made a new tool to label lymphatics: anti-LYVE1 single-domain antibodies, AKA nanobodies (👇 video of kidney lymphatics, nanobody in white)
Many other potential uses!

Wicked two weeks at @CLF_STFC on their shiny new @3i_inc lightsheet microscope 🔬
@EvaMariaFunk & @GideonPomeranz and I acquired 3D images (>6000GB?!) from cleared kidney tissue + organoids, thanks to @robmlees & @spireitesarah
Even checked out our data in virtual reality 😵💫
Last week I had the opportunity to work with a @3i_inc light sheet system. After spending most of my time at #medschool these days, it was great to be intensely immersed into science again at a fascinating place like @CLF_STFC
Thank you, @robmlees for your expertise and support
Congratulations to my #HägerlingLab colleague #LennartFreise on his first first-author publication. Lennart uses light sheet microscopy to study the placental vasculature and its lymphatic mimicry. His work aims to better understand #preeclampsia.

Research images like this are changing our understanding of kidney disease…
Through this photo, researchers have a way to study inflammation in the kidney, by capturing the lymphatic system of an adult mouse kidney in action. Isn't it fascinating? 😲
#KidneyDisease
For yesterday's #worldkidneyday, here's an image of kidney lymphatics (+ glomeruli) by @EvaMariaFunk: @berlinnovation researcher/med student
Plenty learn about these structures and their therapeutic potential in kidney disease. But we & others around the world are getting there!

#WorldKidneyDay
This #WorldKidneyDay we're highlighting some of the amazing research that is changing our understanding of kidney disease.
This image from @EvaMariaFunk is helping scientists to study inflammation in the kidney!

Every day, our researchers strive to improve the lives of seriously ill children. Their #research can sometimes produce stunning images, offering captivating insights into their incredible work. Take a peek at not one, but eleven, moments of discovery...
An image of my research was shortlisted for the @GreatOrmondSt 'A moment of discovery' competition, which was covered by the @sciencefocus magazine. Check it out!
