Interesting paper on prediction models for severity and prognosis of #COVID-19
Prediction models for diagnosis and prognosis of covid-19 infection: systematic review and critical appraisal https://t.co/bguiear3v2
Amazing work by @MonicaHahnMD and Dr. Deb Cohan @UCSF in leading the push to reverse this antiquated ban on blood donation by men who have sex with men @US_FDA

The case definition for #COVID19 testing criteria changed many times at the beginning of the pandemic. Perhaps the rate of community transmission was underestimated?
Weโve launched UCSF Health atlas (https://t.co/sW5Gf5MiMm)!! Maps social, demographic, environmental factors that affect health in communities in CA.
And.... from @palewire@latimes who have done outstanding job reporting on COVID - we also have daily updated COVID cases!!
In light of the disparities identified all over the US, check out our op-ed in @nytopinion on #COVID19 in slums. Governments need to protect all communities and invest in community-based/led interventions @IshmaelValdez@LeeRiley18

Great to see release #COVID19 deaths by race/eth in Los Angeles
Deaths seem to mirror LA demographics w/ 3 notable points-
AA deaths (17%) higher than population (9%)
Missing demographic for 43%
Limited testing in CA makes attribution difficult

If our social distancing works it is possible we will not just flatten the curve, but get a decline in cases. Under a best-case scenario, we will keep that policy in place long enough to get down to very, very few cases domestically.
Take home point from Anna Harte, John Swartzberg, @LeeRiley18, Art Reingold, @NP_Jewell:
- this is a wake up call, the world needs to invest in public health
- when you see a healthcare worker, thank them
- stay at home, wash your hands, support your community
@LeeRiley18 re: controversy of testing: limit testing to vulnerable populations. US does not have the same infrastructure that South Korea/China has (bc of past MERS/SARS outbreak). China and Korea did contact tracing, with quarantine all contacts (asymptomatic included)
Question regarding testing. Ideally: would test a lot more people. Reality: because of limited number of tests, test people for whom medical management would change, or who may transmit #COVID19 to a large group of people...
