If anyone wants to EVER debate that residents are not underpaid…
Just calculated that I will get paid ~$5.50 to do a below knee amputation on a patient that has > a 1/5 chance of dying according to our risk calculator.
It’s obviously not about the money, but the stress/emotion/etc seems fairly unbalanced.
Before anyone says: “But it’s basically on the job training, you’re learning so it’s all part of it” lol
This post is NOT to complain, it’s to raise awareness
