Some of the turmeric we have been growing out for rhizomes in large pots. In late fall we collect the rhizomes to plant in the ground this winter. The medicinal qualities of the phytochemicals in this plant are well documented.

Manilkara zapota, known by several names including #sapodilla and #chikoo. There were only 2 fruits on the tree with many flowers setting fruit. Anybody know what variety this is? I know there are a few here in south Florida.

Our longan trees were thinned today, long overdue. About half of the fruit is removed from the panicles such as this one. The temaining fruit grow much larger.
