SW was inspired by Flash Gordon but is no longer Flash Gordon. it's like saying the life of Christ is equivalent to the early Christian Church or modern Mormonism. things change over time for both better and worse.

Considering that the Orthodox still survive, G-Canon truthers will always exist to an extent. In the meantime the children of today are not equivalent to us or prior generations of children and thus SW, if it is to remain as a 'children's tale', must adapt to them, not vice-versa

considering that in ANH and quite literally every other piece of media, the vast majority of Rebels are Human males and not aliens or Human females (which they ought to be, given COMPNOR), this is a valid interpretation of the Lucas saga

Canon also adds to this because, when the Rebellion supposedly 'wins', they don't do away with the Chain Code technology that the Empire IMMEDIATELY instituted after Order 66 (via BB) or its legal codification and also continue to use literal brainwashing techniques on anybody they deem subversive (Mando, s3)

Canon works as a sort of First French Republic but even then everything else falls flat. First Order? Fate of Luke and/or the Jedi? The fact Hosnian Prime WAS Coruscant until Disney retcon'd it for their own convenience? Hints and direction may be taken from Disney Canon but nothing more.
