@jon_d_doe Yes sir, I was being paid ₦55,000 when I was teaching Digital Technology and Agricultural Science (SS1 to SS3 and JSS1). I quit because they delayed my salary, and transportation was taking almost everything.
All you need to know about the Oil and Gas Industrial Trainee Program
I have received several enquiries about this a couple of days ago after I shared my view under @SirJarus tweet, and I promised to write on it. I’ve put this together to give a clear and detailed breakdown that can serve as a guide for aspiring and prospective oil and gas interns.
Note: they accept virtually all professions, including Engineering, Accounting and Finance, Law, Medicine, Geology, Computer Science and IT, Project Management, etc.
Interning in the oil, gas, and energy sector has become highly competitive over the years. This is why you need to stay updated and be strategic in your application process. As the saying goes, we attain heights through information.
It’s also important to note that what worked a few years ago may not fully apply today, as the world is constantly evolving. This guide will not only give you a clearer picture of what the process entails but also keep you abreast of how to prepare for upcoming application openings.
Here is How to Navigate the First Phase of the Application.
The application window opens twice a year for a period of six months. One span runs from September to February, and the second from March to August. The application is usually out less than two months before the start of the next cycle.
All that’s required for the first phase is to fill in your basic personal information, such as:
📌 Name, School, Department, Address, etc.
One section that seems tricky is the question:
“DO YOU HAVE A SPONSOR WITHIN THE COMPANY?”
A sponsor is someone working within the company who can vouch for your credibility. I strongly recommend seeking a sponsor before proceeding with your application.
Now, you might ask: “How can I get a sponsor if I don’t know anyone working within the company?”
This is where networking comes in. Harness the power of LinkedIn to secure a sponsor.
Here’s how:
1️⃣ Go to the LinkedIn search bar and input the company’s name.
2️⃣ Filter your search by “People” and “School” you’re likely to find alumni from your school.
3️⃣ Send them a connection request along with a personalized message stating your intent.
4️⃣ Reach out to as many people as possible.
💡 Remember, in life, you will get more “Nos” than “Yeses,” so prepare your mind for rejection. Stay persistent, and with a bit of luck, you’ll get a positive response.
Once you’ve secured a sponsor, confidently fill out and submit the application form.
Next phase to be continued in my next post.
Kindly repost to reach wider audience.
Disclaimer: This is based on my experience interning at TotalEnergies PLC.
The only way is to reduce the laptops to just three pieces for N1,050,000 at N350k per laptop.
I dont sell laptops below N350k or 8th Generation my boss as those laptops are too old & tend to be problematic.
It will not serve the users.
Whatever decision you take is fine sir.
