Ageed. I believe ancient dogs actually self-domesticated because they would follow indigenous people around for food, then shelter and protection after that. Most primates are better off left alone in nature. But these are cute. I think the other complication is they will not thrive if they are not paired or in communities.
@creed717 “Developing world” is a polite phrase.
This is dust, sheet metal, and survival—with precision destruction stapled on top.
Same planet. Different centuries.

My daughter’s off at college now, which means the family’s very serious recycling program left with her — including the special recycling bin she bought and enforced like policy 😄
That got me thinking: should someone just… build a smart recycling can?
Imagine dropping in a recyclable, scanning it as you go, and having it sync to your phone with an estimated carbon-footprint impact. Nothing preachy — just quiet feedback and a little awareness over time.
I have no idea if this is a terrible idea or a good one pretending to be crazy. It’s not really my lane, but it felt worth throwing into the world.
Question is: should I build it anyway?
I had a fascinating conversation with a startup realtor/broker who was evaluating his various SaaS subscriptions and how to consolidate or leverage them for maximum ROI. This is a common problem now, with so many tools available and increasing tool creep occurring. In a 30-minute conversation, we narrowed it down to one core set of SaaS tools.

I imagine the conversation was like this..
Einstein:
You know, tea is very forgiving. You can ignore it for minutes and it does not complain.
Curie:
Unlike experiments.
Einstein (smiling):
Experiments are divas. Tea is a collaborator.
Curie:
I drink it because it is warm. And because it keeps me awake without demanding conversation.
Einstein:
Ah. That is its greatest virtue. Coffee insists on enthusiasm.
Curie:
And optimism.
Einstein:
Dangerous substances, both of them.
They sip. A duck crosses the lake, leaving a neat wake behind it.
Curie:
Do you ever think about what makes a tea good?
Einstein:
Yes. It must disappear from attention quickly. If I notice it too much, it has failed.
Curie:
Then we agree. The best tea supports the work without becoming part of it.
Einstein:
Exactly. Like mathematics.
Curie allows herself a small smile.
Curie:
I take mine plain. No sugar. No ceremony.
Einstein:
Same. Though once someone added lemon. I felt personally attacked.
Curie:
That sounds excessive.
Einstein:
Wildly so.
They stand quietly for a moment. The sun drops lower, turning the lake metallic.
Curie:
People assume we must enjoy comforts to balance the work.
Einstein:
They misunderstand balance. Balance is removing what is unnecessary.
Curie:
Tea, then, survives the test.
Einstein:
Barely. But it survives.
He raises his cup slightly, not quite a toast.
Curie:
To warm water with ideas of usefulness.
Einstein:
To things that do their job and stay out of the way.
They drink. The lake keeps its silence.
