🗣️ Charles Lee on Coby White: "He has to be focused on — and I have to be focused, the whole team — he doesn't have to be Melo. He has to be Coby White."

"And it's going to look differently with him at the helm. I'm excited about what he brings to that defensive side of the floor in terms of his ability to take charges and have a really good basketball IQ of how to guard people's tendencies and stuff. Then offensively, he's able to stretch the floor with his ability to shoot threes. [...] He's able to get to the free throw line. He's able to get to the basket a little bit. And then when he gets to the basket, he made some really good reads. So, I think that he's going to help our offense continue to take positive steps."

Lee also talks about LaMelo Ball's growth, the trade, and strong organizational alignment under Jeff Peterson, plus the new additions of Naz Reid, Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale. Part I of his @theobserver interview: https://t.co/HL6BRXEk6W

@ykbBMilly @Card15acKemba @RankOnListd And you added him to a hate watch list so why would he want to say thank you to our fanbase when there’s people like you lol

[Everything Hornets @EvryTingHornets]

@ykbBMilly @Card15acKemba @RankOnListd And Melo was backdoored and has every right to be pissed off lol

[Everything Hornets @EvryTingHornets]

@XavierSupreme_ It was a swing and a miss on him. It was a weak draft which is okay but you can’t keep giving him chances when he’s not good

[Everything Hornets @EvryTingHornets]

@hornets @TotallyNoAlex Jeff Peterson read that and said this is how we sustain success lol

In January, LaMelo Ball was ranked 10th on @spotrac's list of the NBA's worst contracts.

His play and overall impact improved significantly as the season progressed, but it's a reminder of how fragile his trade value looked just a few months ago.

[Everything Hornets @EvryTingHornets]

@Dylonius123 @Out_of_Hornets I think you kinda are saying he didn’t settle us down but to each their own

[Everything Hornets @EvryTingHornets]

@Dylonius123 @Out_of_Hornets He settled us down with his play making… but let’s keep downplaying Melos impact on how good this team

[Everything Hornets @EvryTingHornets]

@Out_of_Hornets @Dylonius123 In theory it will make everyone step up sure but having a Melo caliber player who can run the offense and settle it down when shots aren’t falling is important especially when we are going to be taking a lot of 3s. Play making is going to be very much missed this year
