@Be_Like_JChrist 1 Peter 2:24 affirms that our sins were imputed to Christ on the cross and He died for them. Legal satisfaction for justice. And to clear it up Peter quotes Isaiah 53 in that same verse. 2 Cor 5:21, we can do this all day. PSA is crucial to the gospel. Propitiation = wrath bearer
@what_says2929@RisingDisciples The way you're seeing it is biblical. What the provisionists don't like is if it's all grace. They want grace in the call but that's it. Everything else is man working and keeping himself in Gods good graces. 80% works based salvation.
@ReformedCaio@ProvisionistP Ambiguity is their best friend on these topics. To actually make a positive statement that is consistent their soteriology would shred the attributes of God and confirm open theism. Too much to risk by taking this one on. Great question, seriously.
@RisingDisciples You use the same lazy, recycled argument every day. God foreordains whatsoever comes to pass for His own glory, whether it be in the salvation of His people, or the destruction of His enemies. That doesn't mean it's pointless for Calvinists to oppose things in time. We're not God
@JohnathanP27567@RisingDisciples Hey Geno I wonder how long it will take John to realize he's more offended at my posting a dead deer depicting man than your 2CV. Clown world.
@RisingDisciples All reasoning is circular to a degree, the question is what's the authority? I interpret the remnant in light of Christ's words, you interpret Christs words in light of your emotions and your unbiblical interpretation of the remnant and apply it only to Jews. Read Gal 3:28
@Be_Like_JChrist Rev 13:8 says that the lamb was slain before the foundation of the world. Salvific Grace is present from the beginning. The sacrifices were efficacious in that they pointed to the once for all sacrifice. God forgave sin in the OT too.
@Be_Like_JChrist So you will assume your argument from silence and then require explicit New Testament categories from the OT to move off of it? I mean David pleads for God not to take His Holy Spirit from him PS 51:11.
@Be_Like_JChrist All authority in heaven and on earth had been given to Christ at the resurrection. He has all rule. But that doesn't answer how either Moses or Elijah were able to minister to Him (knowing Him already) prior to the cross.
