“Public school choice in PA has been used as a political football by members of both parties. We cannot continue to allow politics to get in the way of providing students the skills they need to become future leaders." - @ReeseFlurie, @CommCharterAcad https://t.co/Fay5tiul1C

Last night's town hall about school choice in Philly was truly inspiring! If you were unable to make it to the event, you can watch the video at the link below.

@maddiehanna We understand that @SDPHite and Ms Wilkerson are entitled to their opinions (which shouldn’t be confused with actual facts) and so is @PhillyInquirer’s editorial board, but a fair and balanced news outlet would have provided their readers with the charter community’s perspective.

@newskag In no way do any of the 4 charter reform bills currently being discussed by the General Assembly allow for unfettered growth of charter schools.

[Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools @PACharters2023]

@newskag Philly parents support high-quality charter schools (https://t.co/FRbgaIFo3K). Perhaps if their school board members were selected via popular vote, rather than appointed by the @PhillyMayor, the @PHLschoolboard would share the same values of their constituents. #PHLed

@newskag First, thank you @newskag for your thorough coverage of the @PHLschoolboard meetings! It is unfortunate that the chair of the Philly School Board (which authorize the largest group of public charter schools) is so uneducated about #HB356 and #HB357.

The district in Penn Hills where I grew up was denounced by the Auditor General for fiscal irresponsibility, meanwhile was denying charter applications. We need an independent authorization process. ⁦@Lennymcallister⁩
