Forget 'Set Piece FC', Arsenal have won the title without '115 charges' lurking in the margins like Man City, without buying their own women's team like Chelsea, without petro-dollars behind them. That should be celebrated, writes IAN HERBERT https://t.co/z0bdODbQb3
If you find yourself unhappy about the rescue of a woman and her children and jump on every conspiracy to try and downplay the efforts of law enforcement. Just know you’re already a terrorist. You may not be carrying weapons yet but your mindset and theirs are essentially the same
360 lives rescued in one singular operation no commendation from armchair and social media Generals to Nigerian Troops until there's little setback.

The Federal Government has commenced over $100 million power infrastructure projects in Kogi State with the groundbreaking of a 20-megawatt mini-grid power project in Egume, Dekina Local Government Area, expected to become the largest mini-grid project in North Central Nigeria.
Two other renewable energy projects were also commissioned in Kogi East; a 700 KW mini-grid in Offa Community, Olamaboro LGA, and a 400 KW mini-grid in Emewe Efopa Community, Dekina LGA.
absolutely correct. It was just the time & manner it was handled that made Nigerians resisted it. I believe if the policy is introduced with the concerns addressed, kidnapping will reduce as you pointed out.
Cashless policy remains the most effective policy that almost eradicated banditry. It blocked the greatest enabler which is cash from getting to the bandits.
There was obvious and appreciable decline in kidnappings during that time.
I stand to be corrected.
📌 📌📌For those who have gone to Orire does it look like a Local govt area that receives up to approximately 450 million Naira monthly ❓❓❓
When we are ready, we will take our eyes from Abuja and President @officialABAT and focus on the state Emperors.

De Law, You have identified the two haemorrhages that no amount of tactical bandages can stop: FUNDING AND RECRUITMENT.
Every t£rr0r!st k*lled is replaced within weeks sometimes days because the pipeline never dries up. As long as the money flows and the pool of desperate, illiterate, impoverished youth remains deep, the military is playing whack‑a‑mole with human lives.
♦️ ON FUNDING: The government has made progress. Just this week, the DSS traced over ₦2 billion to a single suspect's bank account . The UAE has frozen assets linked to BOKOHARAM/ISWAP financiers. But these are isolated successes, not a systematic strategy.
We need:
✅ A dedicated anti‑terrorism financing task force with real-time intelligence sharing between NFIU, EFCC, DSS, and international partners.
✅ Prosecution of sponsors not just foot soldiers.
✅ Targeting of informal financial systems (crypto, hawala, trade‑based laundering) that t£rr0r!st networks exploit.
♦️ ON RECRUITMENT: You are right, t£rr0r!sts are not from heaven. They are from our societies. They are products of mass weddings, illiteracy, poverty, and uncontrolled births. When a young man has no job, no hope, no future, a t£rr0r!st recruiter offering ₦50,000 even sometimes below and a sense of belonging becomes his only career option.
WHAT WE NEED:
✅ Mass investment in education and vocational training in vulnerable communities.
✅ Mandatory Family planning and birth registration to break the cycle of ungoverned populations.
✅ Economic empowerment programmes targeted at at‑risk youth not as charity, but as counter‑insurgency model.
But here is the hard truth: neither funding nor recruitment can be stopped solely at the federal level. State and local governments are where the ground is lost or held. A governor who allows mass weddings of underage girls is not a cultural conservative he is a recruitment officer for t£rr0r!sts. A Governor or Local government chairman who looks away while illegal mining funds banditry is not a pragmatist he is an enabler.
The fight against t£rr0r!sm will never end if we only treat the symptoms while ignoring the disease.
We need bombs and schools. We need Raids and jobs. We need Arrests and family planning and we need Kinetic force and economic opportunity.
This is not about scoring political points. This is about survival. And if we do not address the cause, we will keep burying the consequences.
🇳🇬🇳🇬 GOD BLESS NIGERIA AND MAY NIGERIA PREVAIL 🇳🇬🇳🇬
Why isn't Nigeria rich?Bad government? Corruption?
Or is there a more uncomfortable explanation: the way we think about money itself?
In my new article, I explore why some societies turn money into capital, while others struggle .

Do you know why people hardly call out their state governors on social media, no matter how poorly the governor perform? Because governors are closer to you. Some of their appointees are your mutuals to whom you owe that silence. And when governors share money, oma n lor far! 😁
The irony of state police is that in many states, the federal govt would still have to come back and do the policing.
Collectively, states have been receiving about ₦500 billion monthly since 2024, yet in some of 'em the most visible development remains ongoing federal roads.
There is no MAGIC WAND to insecurity situation in Nigeria that comprises..
1) Terrorism...
2) Banditry
3) Kidnapping....
Since it started in the past 20 years and continue to escalate...every Successive govt has been dealing with the SYMPTOMS, often with sentiments rather that hitting at root causes.
As always these governments know the solution but None has Mustered the political will power to solve it....
Interestingly for the most part..it is about FEAR OF THE NORTH!!
Because the NORTH has remained the biggest OPPOSITION to the MOST POTENT solution .....FULL FEDERALISM!!
Why do I say so?
1) Nigeria is the country in the world with highest diversity in TRIBE AND RELIGION!!...
....Two major factors that have high propensity to cause insecurity in a CENTRALISED GOVERNMENT POWER STRUCTURE...As each part along tribal and religious lines struggle to control the center.....and that is where INSECURITY roots from....
2) FAAC- SHARE THE MONEY... Most of the States facing insecurity and the tribes & religion spreading insecurity....the Governors care less because it DOES NOT REDUCE THEIR FAAC ALLOCATIONS anyway.
So as far as FAAC rolls in and FG bears the brunt of attack from insecurity...they dont care...
Imterestingly SECURITY IS LOCAL!!
That is why USA runs a Federalism security structure!!
Imagine where FAAC is no more and a State Governor realises that their Revenue depends on 80% of the Viability of the State....if insecurity hammers the state badly what do you think the State Governor will do?
So as we go into electioneering, I need a PRESIDENT that must have the POLITICAL WILL to:
1) Urgently implement Federalism structure in our Security Apparatus...State Police using the USA model
2) Implement a restructured Fiscal Federalism to allow every State control at least 65% of revenue from its natural resources i.e SOLID MINERALS, OIL AND GAS.
Make VAT derivative formula to be at least 65%
3) Allow States to implement their STATE ID CARD system ...that will be linked to NATIONAL ID. ...the National ID becomes Nigeria's NATIONAL SECURITY NUMBER
4) Establish an AI powered NATIONAL CRIMINAL DATA PLATFORM ..anchored /hosted by Office of the NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR
5) Develop a digital geofencing App that will be worn as every Federal Police on active Duty anywhere. Monitored through an AI Powered Control Tower. Same for State Police.
I believe 4 to 5 years is enough to do this where political will is there....
